Occupational Therapist
EDUCATION:
Degree from an accredited program in Occupational Therapy.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE:
Certification or registration to practice as Registered Occupational Therapist (OTR) and current licensure to practice in the Stat of Michigan.
EXPERIENCE:
Experience with providing OT services to individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders and/or other developmental or cognitive delays.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Shiawassee Health & Wellness (SHW) provides services to adults, children and families who have serious mental illness and/or developmental disabilities, serious emotional disturbance and/or problems with substance abuse. The Occupational Therapist is responsible for Occupational Therapy (OT) Services, COTA supervision, and direct treatment. Responsibilities include the provision of skilled treatment with the assurance of compliance with all standards and requirements of the regulatory body and funding agency applicable to safety of individuals served, personnel practices and reimbursement. Provide assessment, develop treatment plans using a person-centered approach, and monitor progress towards achievement of treatment objectives. In addition, provide program direction and work collaboratively with behavioral health service providers. The Occupational Therapist is responsible to the Chief Operating Officer or to other supervisory staff as designated by the Chief Executive Officer.
