Access Clinician - BA
EDUCATION:
Licensed Bachelor’s degree in social work from an accredited university.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE:
Current requisite professional certification or licensure, specifically LBSW or LLBSW.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of two years clinical experience, including experience conducting intervention and treatment within their scope of practice, as evidenced by self-report and corroborated by references Clinical background should also include experience with crisis intervention, short-term treatment, community networking, knowledge of developmental disabilities, and treatment of emotionally impaired or mentally ill individuals. At least one year experience within the Community Mental Health system or in an outpatient clinic and with managed care and/or third-party reimbursement.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITY:
The Access Clinician works in the Access Center facilitating services for individuals and families seeking Shiawassee Health & Wellness services. The purpose of the Access Clinician is to work within a managed care capacity while responding to requests for services, emergencies, pre-admission screens for psychiatric hospitalizations, or through coordination with other community service partners. The Access Clinician will coordinate the execution of these services to assure that an individual or family seeking services is connected with and maintained in the most appropriate and medically necessary services. The Access Clinician with appropriate licensure is encouraged to be a member of the Mobile Crisis Intervention team and learn how to facilitate a preadmission screening. The Access Clinician is responsible to the Supervisor of Access and Emergency Services or to other supervisory staff as designated by the Chief Executive Officer. The full-time position occurs during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, and has a hybrid option available dependent on internal staffing in the department.
