For anyone wanting to receive services at Shiawassee Health & Wellness (SHW), the Access Center is your first stop. You are welcome if you walk into our agency without an appointment or call ahead. You will be sure to receive professional, kind, and confidential help for adults with mental illness, children with serious emotional disturbance, individuals with developmental disabilities, and individuals with substance use treatment needs.
How To Get Help
The Shiawassee Health & Wellness (SHW) Access Team is here to help you when you need us. We are open five days a week: Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Anyone can call or walk-in to the Access Center. You do not need an appointment or a referral from your doctor. You can call us even when our office is closed. A team member will help you with your questions about how to get help.
You can start the process yourself. Sometimes the people in your life make the first move towards getting you help. A family member, guardian, or a neighbor can begin the process as well. In addition, people who are professionals such as doctors, service workers, or mental health organizations can begin the process. However, anyone can help get the process started.
