MDHHS warmline is for Michiganders living with persistent mental health conditions. The warmline will connect individuals with certified peer support specialists who have lived experiences of behavioral health issues, trauma or personal crises, and are trained to support and empower the callers. The warmline will operate seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. at 888-PEER-753 (888-733-7753). Individuals in crisis, including those considering suicide, are urged to contact the Disaster Distress Helpline 24/7 at 800-985-5990 or the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline 24/7 at 800-273-8255.

Shiawassee Health and Wellness (SHW) is dedicated to the health and safety of our consumers, staff, and community. To lessen the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) SHW is following the expectations outlined in Governor Whitmer’s Executive Order 2020-9 requesting social distancing.

As such, the closing of public activities and gatherings may result in a temporary reduction or suspension of services that are typically offered to our consumers. Coronavirus is having a large impact on how all human service organizations are operating. If you are experiencing a reduction or suspension in services, rest assured we intend to resume usual services as soon as we are able.




Per Executive Order 2020-21 Stay Home, Stay Safe:  Beginning Tuesday, March 24, 2020 until Monday, April 13, 2020, Shiawassee Health and Wellness (SHW) will restrict the number of workers presented on SHW premises to no more than is strictly necessary to perform critical infrastructure function. The following is a list of SHW critical infrastructure workers:

  1. Leadership staff
  2. Receptionist staff
  3. Information Technology staff
  4. Access/Emergency Services Clinician
  5. Maintenance staff

All other SHW staff will work remotely as assigned unless otherwise directed by their supervisor.
